Relay Race FAQ
Q: I don’t have a team yet. Should I wait to find a team?
A: If you don’t have a team yet, that’s no problem! Go ahead and sign up and we’ll put you on a kick-ass team, we promise. It’s going to be a fantastic way to meet new people from the NP universe!
Q: If I’m slow, will I be holding up my team?
A: No, we will be doing hard starts. If you aren’t back by the hard start time, the next racer will start regardless so don’t worry about holding back your team. The hard starts will be every 90 minutes for 10km racers (1st racer starts at 8:30am, 2nd racer starts by 10:00am, and 3rd race starts by 11:30am) and every 75 minutes for the 5km racers (1st racer starts at 8:30am, 2nd racer starts by 9:45am, 3rd racer starts by 11:00am, and 4th racer starts by 12:15pm) .
Q: If I sign up as an individual, what if I’m put on a team of people faster/slower than me?
A: Don’t worry about being faster or slower than others on your team. NP is an encouraging community no matter your fitness level. This relay is all about fun!
Q: Is the race timed?
A: Yes, we will be providing timing chips.
Q: Is the race on hard surface or dirt trails?
A: The course consists of concrete and asphalt hard surface paths.

Sponsor Shout Out
As free, grassroots organizations, our November Project communities typically operate on a very low budget with virtually zero flow (just small proceeds from the sale of buffs to pay for spray paint). November Project’s ability to create meaningful connection and fun experiences - essentially for free - is something we take pride in. However, organizing something as big as NP Summit requires an operating budget.
Without a major sponsor behind November Project to back Summit as in years past, we’ve reached out to local businesses in the Edmonton area for help. We are beyond grateful to say that many have come forward with support, believing in the value of November Project to our community. These supporters are helping us fulfil the vision of making this the most marvelous NP Summit yet! (And yes, we know that bar is high!)
We're truly so thankful for all the sponsorship we've received and want to recognize the following super-awesome companies for helping make NP Summit 13 a reality:
If you’re interested in sponsoring NP Summit 13 and joining this great group of businesses, reach out to us at novprojectcan@gmail.com or visit npsummit13.com/sponsorship. We’d love to add your name to the list!
Tag Unveil
We’re not unveiling it today, but we’re excited to share that the countdown is on! Stay tuned on March 5 at 6am Edmonton time (MST). Don’t miss this big announcement!
That’s all for this month’s update. Can’t wait to see you in just four short months!
